The London based artist describes himself as "a queer illustrator with a penchant for mythology, pop culture and storytelling."

He shared with OUT Magazine, "My work often has a queer tone, but not because I try. That’s just part of who I am. My audience is mostly queer now, and my professional direction leans that way, but the heart of my work is storytelling. I want people to bring their own meaning to the image."

When asked about his artistic influences, Ego told The Advocate, "I have an interest for the poster style. The advertisement sense of telling only with an image.  You can tell artists like Gruau, Mucha, Klimt, Erté had been a big influence in my style."
