Page 407 - Pride Flags & Pits: A Collection

Greetings and Happy Pride Month, fellow armpit lovers!

The first versions of the Rainbow Flag (a.k.a. the Gay Flag) debuted on June 25, 1978, for the San Francisco Gay Freedom Day parade.  Throughout the years, the multi-colored flag has evolved.

Eventually, other flags joined our ranks, many of which you may not know about.  I certainly wasn't familiar with all of them.

"In the LGBTQ+ community, we signify our pride with flags. With many different identities in the community, there comes many different flags."  --- The Human Rights Campaign website: HRC/lgbtq-pride-flags .

Well, here are a couple of collages I put together using various subculture Pride Flags.

First, I'd like to present the Intersex-Inclusive Progress Pride Flag, along with a few sexy pits I downloaded from my subscription to vecteezy.com .

Next, we have the Men Loving Men Flag (a.k.a. MLM Flag) and a pair of sexy pits I downloaded from my paid subscription to Dreamstime.com: dreamstime.com .

Believe it or not, I just learned about this flag and it's new and improved design (minus the pits I added).

“Men Loving Men” describes anyone who identifies as a man and is attracted to men. It is inclusive and represents all shades of men who love men, from effeminate to butch, shy to outgoing, but not limited to men who identify as gay, bisexual, pansexual, gender non-conforming, and transgender.  I love that! 💓

"It features (seven) colors,... ranging from green to white to purple. The green and turquoise colors represent community and healing. White represents gender nonconforming, transgender, and non-binary individuals. And the blue to purple colors represent love, diversity and fortitude."  ---  San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus Website: sfgmc.org/blog/pride-flags .

Here's the Bisexual Pride Flag, featuring the gorgeous male and female showing off their pits via vecteezy.com along with the waving flag, which was downloaded from my paid subscription to Dreamstime.com: dreamstime.com .

According to Michael Page, the flag's creator, pink represents same-sex attraction and blue is for opposite-sex attraction. The purple stripe in the middle overlaps the two colors, symbolizing more than one type of attraction.

“The purple pixels of color blend unnoticeably into both the pink and blue, just as in the ‘real world’ where most bi people blend unnoticeably into both the gay/lesbian and straight communities.”  ---  USA Today onlinewww.usatoday.com/bisexual-pride-flag-colors-meaning .

So, did you know there's also a flag for your supportive, straight friends and family?  It's called the Ally Flag.

I made the above collage combining the cropped image of the tank topped hunk and inserting the flag, with a bit of editing for good measure.

The "Ally Flag" represents straight or cis-gendered people who have recognized the discrimination that the LGBTQ+ community faces and stands with them. It unites the two communities with the black and white heterosexual colors as the background and a six-colored rainbow 'A', that stands for 'ally', in the center."  ---  San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus website: sfgmc.org/blog/pride-flags .
