Greetings, fellow armpit lovers!
ME: "Sigh!"
Today, in the city where I live, if you go outside and look up, there are no dark clouds in the sky. Yet for me, it's a very, very gloomy day. You see, I just found out my neighbor, Shelly, has just moved away,... along with her twentysomething year old, hottie son, Josh.
ME: "Say, 'It ain't so'! Say, 'It ain't so'! He's gone! He's gone!"
I came home from work to find their apartment vacant. The blinds were open, and the place has been cleaned and emptied out.
Their patio was on the ground floor and faced the parking lot. Shelly regularly took cigarette breaks on the patio, so we saw each other quite often and chatted. Josh usually arrived home around the same time as I did. He had a physically taxing job in construction.
Some of you might remember that I briefly mentioned him, in one of my previous blog posts.
By now, I should be use to the fact that people who live in apartments don't remain residents forever.
If I recall correctly, the first time I saw Josh was about a year ago. I was taking my trash to the dumpster, as he was walking down the ramp of their rented U-HAUL, parked in front of our building. The young stud was wearing an opened hoodie, which displayed his shirtless, chiseled chest and abs!
Wowzah, what a hot-hot-hottie! I passed the van and tried to stay calm and cool as I welcomed him to the neighborhood. He smiled and thanked me, then informed me that he and his mom were moving in. Soon, his other male relatives came from out of the apartment to retrieve what was left in the moving van. I wished them good luck and a good day, and attempted to walk up the stairs to my place, without my knees buckling from my lustful excitement. --- Josh wasn't just sexy, he was smoldering sexy!
His body (at least the parts that were visible) reminded me of Michelangelo's statue of David!
So, the burning question on my mind was not:
"Is he gay or straight?"
"Is he dating anyone?"
"Does he play loud music past 10 P.M.?"
Nope! What I wanted,... no, what I NEEDED to know was:
"Are his armpits smooth or hairy?"
Well, week after week, and month after month, (apart from seeing him in a work uniform) every time I saw Josh chillin', he was shirtless,... but, always wearing an open shirt or jacket! --- We live in Texas, so even in the winter, it never stays cold for very long.
Sure, the dude's fashion choices were super sexy, but dang, I never got a peek at his pitters! I was dying to know what they looked like! Shaved or unshaven!
Naturally, I became obsessed with the guy and tried to sneak a peek at his pits every single time we encounter each other around the building or parking lot.
For months, I schemed of creative ways to get Josh to show me his pitters. Like inviting him to go swimming in the community pool together. Or, I figured I could invite him to join me at the complex's basketball court, to play a game of One-On-One Hoops.
ME: "Tell ya what buddy, I'll be the on shirts teams and you can be on the skins team. Now, shuck off that shirt, Joshy!"
There was just one problem. I don't know how to play basketball. --- Bummer!
One day last month, I got super excited! I came home from shopping and I saw Josh and his mom together, sitting on their patio. He was scrolling through his iPhone, while Shelly was occupied with her favorite pastime, which was "people watching" folks in the parking lot. I was pleasantly surprised to finally see the young hunk shirtless! --- He had such a beautifully toned body! Don't know whether he got his fabulous physique from construction work, the gym, or a combination of both,... but WOW! ---- Yep, he most definitely could have posed for Michelangelo! 馃槏
Trying to be friendly, yet strategic, I waved hello to both mother and son! Shelly flashed a wide smile, followed by a big cordial wave. Sadly, Josh didn't raise an arm. He simply looked up, grinned most graciously, gave a friendly nod, then went back to looking at his phone screen. --- Curses! That blasted phone!

Drat, drat, drat!!! With one wave, he could have answered my year-long query: "Are Josh's armpits smooth or bushy?"
Of course, now that they've moved away, I'll never, ever know.
So, the moral of the story, Pit Pals?... Learn to play basketball.
